Executive Director, Greg Wathen

Perry County Development Corporation
Formerly Public Affairs Manager for the Greater Louisville Economic Development Partnership, Wathen joined the Perry County Development Corporation as its Executive Director in 1992.
While in Louisville, he also managed the Greater Louisville Media Information Center, an independent news service bureau which assisted international, national and regional media in dealing with stories about the Greater Louisville area.
A graduate of Indiana State University, Wathen is Accredited in Public Relations by the Public Relations Society of America, and held the position of president for the Bluegrass Chapter of the PRSA. He is a past president and served on the board of directors of the Indiana Economic Development Association, a statewide economic development organization with more than 300 members.

He also served as one of the original 23-members of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation board of directors, created by the Indiana Legislature to carry out the economic functions of the State beginning in 2005.
He has spoken to regional and national groups on media relations and marketing, and has conducted media relations seminars for such groups as the National Forum for Black Public Administrators. During 1999 and 2001, he was part of a five-member U.S. team who taught the first tertiary and advanced economic development courses in New Zealand.
Wathen is a small business entrepreneur, as well. He started and is the managing member for Maplewood Hospitality, L.L.C., a hotel development and management company focusing on small markets.
He resides in Tell City, Indiana, with his wife Elizabeth. His daughter Sara (30) is a teacher and has produced the familys first grandchild, three-year old Max. His middle son Justin (23) recently graduated from college and is employed. His youngest child and son Trevor (22) has, as his mother likes to say, taken a sabbatical from college to pursue a career in music. Other important family members include Abby, a black Labrador; Bailey, a chocolate Labrador; and, two cats, Boo and Crazy.

Carol Hagedorn joined the Perry County Development Corporation in January of 2003 as its Administrative Assistant. Hagedorns duties include serving as front office staff, marketing and advertising development, along with web site coordination.
A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, Hagedorn majored in print journalism and minored in business law. She served as a reporter for multiple area newspapers before being introduced to the Perry County Development Corporation in 1992 while working with the Perry County Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to joining the PCDC staff, job assignments included Communications Associate for the Sisters of St. Benedict of Ferdinand and Marketing Director for Citizens National Bank (now Old National).
Hagedorn resides in Tell City with her husband Brett, and their children, Emily and Kyle.
