Business Climate

A commitment to the success of local businesses permeates the Perry County mind set. This is evidenced by the strong corporate and governmental partnerships that have resulted in innovative new business programs, a tax system that keeps overall costs competitive and a regulatory environment that promotes growth. A county-wide commitment to doing business can only mean greatly enhanced profitability for your company.

One example of these partnerships is the county's state-of-the-art fiber optic telecommunication technology. The local business community and the people of Perry County worked closely with state and national government agencies to bring cutting edge communications within the county's borders. In addition to communication technology, such partnerships have resulted in an expansion of the municipal airport and improved highway infrastructure throughout the region. A project is now underway expanding the reach of sewage facilities into more rural areas of the county, to increase the area of development opportunities. These, and similar activities, including our new business resource guide (download PDF here), make Perry County one of the most accessible and business-friendly communities in the world.

The private/public sector partnership approach offers unique advantages to companies calling Perry County home. The development of innovative funding packages for new businesses, continuing education programs and international marketing campaigns all contribute to the profitability of local businesses. The Perry County Development Corporation also operates in close consultation with the Indiana Economic Development Corporation to draw on its vast resources and experience as well as our own.

Data sheets on the breakdown of business entities and consumer spending within a 10 mile, 30 mile and 50 mile radius of the county seat are available on our Files for Download page.
