Perry County Learning Academy
Having begun operation in late 2003, the Perry County Learning Academy provides individuals who have dropped out of high school with the opportunity to obtain both credit recovery and a High School diploma. The center, which is equipped with high-tech equipment, offers students flexible hours with personal instruction. The Academy, which is located in the Schergens Center in Tell City, is a cooperative project of each of the three school systems within the county. Ivy Tech State College

- Students can earn an associate degree in applied science, a degree in business administration or one in office administration
- Vocational training opportunities include a technical certificate in welding or industrial maintenance
- Distance education classes are offered in conjunction with Evansvilles location
- Internet classes that allow students to work from their home or office
- Transfer of credits with Vincennes University, the University of Southern Indiana and other state universities
- Area high school students can also earn Ivy Tech college credits through select dual credit offerings with high schools
- Apprenticeship training classes and the popular Senior Scholars classes for retired Indiana residents age 60 and over
Community Learning Center of Perry County
In cooperation with the Perry County Learning Partnership, the Community Learning Center of Perry County is dedicated to delivering programs that respond to individual, community, workforce and economic development needs. Bringing additional higher education opportunities to Perry County, the Community Learning Center offers courses at a local site without traveling to a universitys campus. The Community Learning Center operates through Indiana State University (fiscal agent) and the South Central Educational Association. For more information, call 812-547-6883.
