Federal Funding to Help With Southwest Indiana Development Plan

A federal grant will help a planning group in southern Indiana develop an economic development strategy. The Indiana 15 Regional Planning Commission will receive nearly $190,000 over three years. The funding is from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Economic Development Administration.

The strategy is expected to include Pike, Dubois, Spencer, Crawford, Orange and Perry counties.

Indiana 15 is also expected to use some of the funding for community development grants to support more local projects.

Those could deal with infrastructure, transportation or economic development.

The development plan should be completed by June.
