Tell City, Indiana Thyssen Krupp Waupaca Foundry for Sale

The parent company of ThyssenKrupp Waupaca is selling an Indiana operation. As part of a restructuring, the German company is putting its foundry business up for sale, which includes a location in Tell City. The Perry County Economic Development Corporation says the facility employs between 700 and 800.

Under the strategic development measures the Group will make no compulsory redundancies. This is a very important message. If companies are sold, we will expect potential buyers to present a coherent business plan and make binding statements about the future of sites and jobs. As in the past, the employee representatives will be involved at an early stage in the implementation of individual portfolio measures.

According to Chris Kinnett, Executive Director, Perry County Development Corporation, "ThyssenKrupp Waupaca Plant 5 in Tell City, IN is a strong brand based on quality products and a highly productive work force. We look forward to working with any company interested in the purchase of Waupaca. Perry County and the Perry County Development Corporation have worked closely with the Tell City facility to improve infrastructure and address issues relevant to the company's long term profitability."

"Perry County and the Perry County Development Corporation are committed to Waupaca and will continue our excellent working relationship with Waupaca to ensure profitability and a long-term relationship with Perry County, including vertical and horizontal integration of future facilities," he continued.
